Engineering Manager

Calibrate Ltd, part of RSK Group are recruiting for a an Engineering/Technical Manager to join the team based in the Northeast, Midlands region.

We want you to be an integral part of our senior team – we are recruiting someone capable of building upon our existing superb reputation as the go-to Company for Commercial Heat Pumps and CHP systems.

Specific Industry experience is not required, however exposure to the design, install and commissioning of small to medium sized commercial equipment is a prerequisite. In this role will be supported directly by a motivated and enthusiastic management team with decades of hands-on experience, both in the Company as well as your partner RSK who share the delivery of the goals.

You will:

  5. Have had previous leadership roles, managed design engineers, commissioning technicians and subcontractors.
  6. Capable of the mechanical design and coordinated electrical design of the Companies full range of products.

  8. Lead by example and uphold the standards, ethos of the RSK Group.
  9. Provide inspiration and motivation to the team.
  10. Comply with RSK Group’s and Government Health and Safety Policy, GDPR and HSE.
  11. Be commercially minded and develop effective relationships with critical OEM suppliers.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years mechanical engineering experience of hands-on design and leading the design development and commissioning of electromechanical machines.
  • Experience in the design of commercial Heat pumps and refrigeration would be a huge advantage.
  • Experience in overseeing all aspects of the technical design, specification and the commissioning of installed heat pump and CHP systems.
  • Competency in the specification and design of on and offline control systems.
  • Delivery of M&E type projects to specification, on time and within budget.
  • Proficient in CAD design or equivalent.
  • Be responsible for all mechanical approval and sign off.
  • Electrical experience is essential.
  • Demonstrable success in the technical arena.
  • Ability to organise, lead, develop and motivate a small technical based team.
  • Sound understanding of all commercial aspects associated with projects.
  • Ability to work alongside a large parent organisation.
  • Proven experience working within ISO 9001 systems and procedures.
