Project Engineer Vacancy

Reporting to:
Operations Manager

Working with Internal:
Project Managers, Operations, Sales, Administration, all other staff as and when needed.

Working with External:
Clients, sub-contractors, suppliers, H&S consultants, mechanical design consultants.

Main Objectives:

  • To report directly to the Operations Manager with complete trust and honesty
  • To comply with the responsibilities laid down in the Group’s Health and Safetypolicy to ensure a safe working environment
  • Responsibility for CHP (Combined Heat Power) product line
  • Become the company technical expert in CHP
  • Influence project scope and design
  • Prepare, manage and be involved with all CHP documentation including but not limited to;
    • BOM’s
    • Product data sheets
    • Technical drawings
    • Installation instructions
    • Assembly
    • Site installation
    • Commissioning (as part of team)
    • Maintenance / manuals
    • Regulatory certifications
    • Safety instructions and data
  • Help to cost engineer the CHP systems to maximise profitability
  • To achieve all targets and objectives within specified timescales and budgets whilstmaximising the profit potential of Calibrate sales through cross and up selling
  • Work with the aforementioned teams to deliver exceptional client communication
  • Understand all of Calibrate’s products offering to a high sales conversational / technical level and be able to produce a basic system design and MTO for pricing purposes
  • Produce project cash flows and project costings
  • Work with internal production teams to train them to safely assemble CHP’s.

  • On time and on price delivery of CHP
  • Organised and repeatable product documentation trail
  • Work safely and responsibly, ensure that best and safe practice is followed
  • To ensure that design presented to the client is fully costed and meets the delivery team’s expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers
  • To have read, understood and comply with Company Policy and Procedures at all times
  • To effectively and professionally communicate, internally and externally both written and verbally
  • Ensure that client (internal and external) satisfaction targets are met through the manufacturingprocess and deal with any internal client issues which have not been resolved
  • To communicate the design brief to the client (internal and external)
  • To liaise with the sales team to ensure up to date understanding of sales exchange, hand over and completion targets in order to ensure the correct number of clients for each quarter
  • To ensure appropriate reporting to the Operations and/or MD and clients
  • To undertake regular career and professional development
  • To always represent Calibrate professionally in both personal appearance and conduct, including participation at corporate hospitality events from time to time
  • To carry out any other reasonable business tasks in accordance with operational needs as requested by your manager
  • UK travel and overnight stays as and when necessary.
