The Introduction.
Situated 25 miles west of Newcastle in the historic market town of Hexham stands the impressive Hexham and Northern Marts.
Hexham and Northern Marts specialises in the auction of livestock for farmers of the North East regions and was looking for a way to diversify its revenue streams without impacting the day to day running of the business. As a leading provider of cost effective, money making renewable energy systems, Calibrate Energy Engineering had the ideal solution for Hexham and Northern Marts.
A 50kW Solar Panel system offsets the Heatpump electricity requirements by 50% while the 300kW Ground Source Heatpump system manages 95% of the yearly onsite heating and hot water demand. The in-ground pipework is trenched under the implement field and the Heatpump are located in a secure prefabricated plant room. The Heatpump system heats the existing radiators throughout the building and within the three sales rings.

The Heatpump system has a 236% return on investment with the Government 20 year tariff.
The Conclusion.
A bespoke control system remotely manages the renewable technologies. This enables Hexham & Northern Marts to have a ‘hands off’ approach as well as enabling real time tariff generation and power consumption readings. The systems were installed in under 3 months during the day to day operation of the Mart with no downtime required.
